I can't believe it has been over two months since I posted. Time just flies! I keep telling myself I am going to blog "as soon as"... Well, with everyday life, homeschool, a toddler, a new baby, a wonderful, but not always convenient homestead in the country, and a home business - "as soon as" just never seems to come.
Otherwise life is good. Nolan is growing every day and giving us lots of baby smiles. He is such a joy! The big boys are doing well in school and even mastering their Algebra (with help from my dad. We are so thankful for his weekly instruction in this area). They are a great help around the place, getting in the firewood, and doing outside chores. With all the rain we've had this month they had to fill a lot of holes in the driveway. Sarah is growing taller and doing a bit more baking in the kitchen. She does well in school, but would rather play with Ethan. She is reading the 8th Little House on the Prairie book this month and a book report is required. She can change diapers now and is always there to help with the baby. It's so nice to have another set of willing hands. Ethan is still adjusting to NOT being the baby, but he is managing. He enjoys having his brothers and sister home all the time. There is always someone to play with him and give him attention. He gives baby Nolan lots of hugs and holds toys so he can see them.
I love this warm and cozy time of year. We have been playing a lot of games together in the evening, and enjoying homemade cookies and wassail. I am keeping it really simple this Christmas, but our little snowman is up on the piano (Ethan was delighted when I pulled him out of the box) and a few fir boughs deck the halls. We haven't got the tree up yet, this weekend I hope.
